Originally from Cuba, I immigrated to the U.S. in 1999 at the young age of seven. As a child, I idolized Selena Quintanilla, and it was her iconic red lip that first sparked my love for makeup. Needless to say, none of my mother’s makeup survived after my many “Selena concerts” at home.
Years later, while in college, I discovered my passion for the business world and knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I made the bold decision to combine my two loves—makeup and business—and, just six credits shy of earning my degree, I left school to pursue this dream. It was a scary and uncertain choice at the time, but in hindsight, it became the turning point of my life.
What began as a childhood fascination grew into a true talent through years of transforming myself, friends, and family.
I opened a business Instagram while working full-time doing my makeup after hours and posting appointment openings. Within three days, I had my very first client. Shortly after, I booked my first bride—and that’s when I realized bridal makeup was my calling.
It happened by chance: I was originally hired by her sisters to do their makeup, while she had booked a more experienced artist. Just as I was finishing up, the bride called her sister in tears, distraught with her makeup and asked if I could help.
I gently told her I couldn’t fix what had been done, but if I removed it, I could create a brand-new look. Though I had never worked on a bride before, but I trusted my artistry.
After she sat in my chair, I created her dream bridal look. She was ecstatic— and immediately booked me for the rest of her wedding events. Witnessing her transformation both in appearance and confidence, and realizing the impact I had on such a meaningful day, lit a fire in me.
From that moment on, I knew I would dedicate myself to bridal makeup, ensuring every bride feels that same confidence and overwhelming happiness through my art.
